Mickey Mouse Clubhouse teaching kids to cross-dress?!?!

November 14, 2009 - Leave a Response

cross-dressing pete This post is going to be mainly for the feeling I have towards the pro-gay movement they are pushing in California. I honestly don’t think that homosexuality is ok but, it is not my business to tell people that what they are doing is wrong. I just would like to not have my children exposed to these ways.

I watched the episode of Fox News where they are showing elementary school children in California these videos about a man that takes his mother’s clothes to dress up as a woman and flirt with these buff lifeguard men. It scares me to think that the parents weren’t told of this and their children were shown these videos. The video can be seen here. I believe that there is a free right to be they way you want to be but there is also a right for the people who don’t want anything to do with certain things shouldn’t have to be exposed to it or have their children exposed to it.

My daughters love the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse  and I have been watching this show since it started on Disney channel a few years ago. I have started noticing lately that when they do an episode of the show where the characters are needing to dress up that some of the time the character, Pete, dresses up as a woman of some sort. I am not sure if maybe they needed another female character for the episode to work and so they just made, Pete (who is an extra), dress up as a woman. I have seen him dress up as an old woman and a princess. I can’t remember if there has been other costumes but I do know he has dressed up in almost every episode.

So far my daughters have not caught on to him being a man and dressing up as a woman but, I feel as if they just think he is playing pretend with the other characters. I think that it is telling them that is ok, even though they aren’t picking it up right now. I believe Disney needs to make another girl character for the show.

I do know that the day the school system that my children are in brings those videos and those thoughts on the table to teach my children I will stop at nothing to make sure my children aren’t exposed to those thoughts. I don’t want my children to be taught that homosexuality is ok. I will however teach them to not be discriminative to those who are different.

Just my thought for the moment…

Cats on the loose..

November 14, 2009 - Leave a Response

So today went as I expected..

I started off with high hopes of getting my list accomplished.. well, at least some of it. Once I sat down at the computer it was all over from there. I started scrapblogging and couldn’t stop. I had to quit after one page of the scrapblog and make myself take a shower, since it was on my list. After that I started another load of laundry and then once again was lost in the scrapblog.

Found out today that you need to remanence in your old photos every now and again. I was looking at my 5 year olds baby photos and I have just forgotten those special baby moments. They seem so long ago. It almost makes me wish we had another baby… The time keeps flying faster and faster.

To the title, cats on the loose seems to be an event that keeps happening. The cats must have some secret mission. As soon as we pull in the drive way they must go running downstairs to wait right at the door because mom and dad are home. When we open the door they go running out side and into the neighbors yard.. It is manageable for our white cat because we can see her and she usually comes back and runs into the house within a few minutes.. But, when black cat gets out he just keeps running from us and he is hard to see in the dark..

Tomorrow is a day off, well somewhat.. I have a short list of stuff to accomplish.

G’night

Day two-Starting of the day..

I went to bed at 1:00 a.m. and then got up at 7. The first thing I find myself doing after turning the alarm off of my phone is playing the way to addicting game, Mafia Wars on my phone. I get up and then put on some jogging clothes and wake up Kadance. She has to be at school at 8. Now that I have dropped her off I am sitting here at the computer, drinking my coffee. I had to make Daphne a chocolate chip waffle with a glass of chocolate milk.

My list of things I need to do.

  • Drink my coffee.
  • Start some laundry
  • Take a shower.
  • Work on the scrapblog.

I am excited for tonight because we are having dinner with friends. I am so glad that we have found this group to hang out with. It has kept us from having to spend so much time at Justin’s parents house. We would go over to their house 4 nights a week. I however, hated it because I felt as if our family had no structure because we weren’t spending time as a family, in our own home. I believe once I get a job their will be more structure to my schedule and not so much spontaneity. p_1600_1200_416AFFBB-27BF-40EE-B5BE-51FF7379311F.jpeg

Now to get off of here and guzzle my wanna be mocha.

Rambling..

I can only say that today was a fun and adventurous time. I got to make potstickers and crab rangoons with my cousin. I forget how much I enjoy to cook.
I feel as if I have no inspriring words to post in the message other than some random thoughts.
I am unable to sleep, it seems like for the past couple of days. I can only think of the school projects that I am working on and things I would like to accomplish. All these thoughts rattling on my head and I can never seem to piece them together and get something to work.
My main goal for tomorrow is to start and hopefully finish a scrapblog for my daughter Kadance. I would love for my kids to see all of their past in the way of photos. I love looking at my childhood photos, the few that I have but, I know that I have thousands of photos of my girls and that is just five years of life I have caught on camera. I would like to make them a scrapbook for every year of their life. Hold me to this because that is my goal to start tomorrow.
Now hopefully, after putting these thoughts down I can rest easily and fall asleep tonight.
G’nite.

First post..

Daphne and I

I started this blog today to see what blogs are all about.. I have used Livejournal in the past and now I am always on facebook. I have come to believe that livejournal was the first blog. Seems like all the same features. Getting to rant and rave about things via the internet and being able to de-stress from every day life.

I will tell you a little about me, I am currently a senior at Missouri Western State University. I am supposed to graduate in May of 2010. I have this feeling deep in the pit of my stomach that they will try to mess up my graduation and try to get me to stay yet one more semester. I am a graphic design major. My true love is art history. My one true education goal in life would be to get a doctorate in art history.

As of right now, I am happily married to Justin, of 5 years. We met and became best friends when I was 16 and are still best friends. We have 2 girls together; Kadance (who is 5) and Daphne (who is 4). Having two kids and being a full time student is like living on a roller coaster. Battling projects and school and tackling the laundry is an everyday job for me. I am grateful for the husband I have because he sees this struggle I have and he helps out in every way he can. Sometimes I feel as if I am ungrateful for him but, I truly would be a mess without him.

I am an avid iPhone user. I find that this little phone can make my life so much easier and enjoyable. I am a tech junkie. I love the electronics store and I always find my self buying some new electronic device.

I am going to end with saying that everyday is a new challenge for me. I love to tackle the challenge some days, those are the days I have a sufficient amount of coffee in the morning.
